AC Milan star Rafael Leao has named one Chelsea player in his world XI.

Rafael Leao was asked to put together a team of the best footballers in the world in an interview with Sky Sports Italy and included the likes of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.

The Portuguese forward also named himself in the side, which is fair enough. On his day, he is easily one of the most dangerous attackers in Europe.

Last season, Leao scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 35 Serie A appearances, showing the kind of threat he brings in the final third.

Rafael Leao names Thiago Silva in world XI

Leao named Thiago Silva in his world XI when picking the defenders for his team.

In his interview with Sky Sports Italy, he said: “4-3-3. Maignan, Cancelo on the right, Theo on the left, Thiago Silva in the centre with… Van Dijk? No… Ruben Dias. In midfield Bellingham, De Bruyne, Modric. And in front Leao on the left, Vinicius on the right and Mbappe centre-forward.”

Thiago Silva not a surprise inclusion in Rafael Leao’s world XI

It is not a shock to see Silva pop up in someone’s dream team. The Brazilian is obviously an incredible defender.

Despite being 39, Silva, who was described as a “magnificent” player by ESPN pundit Steve Nicol earlier this season, is still getting the job done for Chelsea.

In their 3-2 win against Luton Town over the weekend, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Milan star made a whopping 10 clearances. No one on the pitch managed more on the day (WhoScored).

Even so, it still looks like Chelsea could be willing to let him go at the end of the campaign. Silva’s contract expires then and the club are now being linked with Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
