Marcus Bettinelli is the only confirmed signing so far, despite the constant talk over a deal for Jules Kounde and a new striker.
Whilst Thomas Tuchel’s squad isn’t getting any bigger, the Blues set-up as a whole is certainly shrinking in size.

Fikayo Tomori
Fikayo Tomori gave us a pretty good rendition last year of what is in store.
The defender joined AC Milan on loan in January and quickly adapted to his Italian surroundings.
He played 22 times for the Rossoneri across all competitions, the first of which arrived in the Milan derby.
By the end of his spell, Tomori had replaced captain Alessio Romagnoli in defence, affirming his position within Stefano Pioli’s side.
Milan then made his move permanent, as they aim to build upon their fine campaign, using the young centre-back as a vital piece of the puzzle.
Marc Guehi
Chelsea fans won’t have too long until they can witness Marc Guehi in the flesh.
Unfortunately, it will be in the colours of Crystal Palace rather than their own strip.
Guehi was swooped up by the Eagles for £18m (Guardian), after impressive spells at Swansea City in the Championship.
Palace recently let Gary Cahill leave Selhurst Park, which should pave the way for Guehi’s regular inclusion.
Billy Gilmour
Billy Gilmour’s shackles have finally been released.
After two years of standing on the periphery at Chelsea, the Scotsman can spread his wings whilst on loan with Norwich City.
The Canaries got him a season-long deal, as they attempt to avoid instant relegation back to the second division.
Daniel Farke’s team play an exciting brand of football, which should play into Gilmour’s skills perfectly.
Conor Gallagher
Another man on loan, Conor Gallagher will be looking to impress Tuchel during his stint with Crystal Palace.
Patrick Vieira plans to field the 21-year-old in a more advanced position than he’s typically taken up with Chelsea.
This should allow Gallagher to express himself in the final third and hopefully boost his goalscoring numbers.
Olivier Giroud
If Chelsea fails to sign a centre-forward before the end of August, then letting Olivier Giroud exit for Milan will be a disaster.
Especially if the Frenchman lights up Serie A.
There’s no doubting his ability, it just depends on how much action he’ll be afforded whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic is roaming the San Siro.
Marco Van Ginkel
A fairy-tale story in itself, Blues supporters will only want the best for Marco Van Ginkel.
After missing 956 days of football thanks to a serious knee injury, the midfielder made his comeback whilst on loan with PSV Eindhoven earlier this year.
He then committed to the Dutch outfit on a full-time basis. His loyalty was awarded by being named captain for the upcoming term.
Tino Livramento
Part of the Chelsea development exodus is Tino Livramento.
After failing to sign an extension on his contract, the teenager was snapped up by Southampton for £5m (Guardian).
Heading straight to a top-flight club, despite never making a senior appearance for the Blues, is a signal of his quality.
Livramento will have competition at right-back in Kyle Walker-Peters but expect him to gain minutes in the cup.
Lewis Bate
Almost a carbon copy of Livramento’s movements, Lewis Bate also decided against agreeing to a new Chelsea deal.
Instead, he leaned towards Leeds United, who gratefully accepted his services.
Marcelo Bielsa is no stranger to using youngsters and it will certainly be one hell of a learning experience for Bate.
Victor Moses
Victor Moses was already firmly part of the Spartak Moscow contingent before he joined them permanently last month.
He made 20 appearances for the Russians in 2020/21 and has already started twice for them this season.
