Ray Parlour claims he can imagine Chelsea trying to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney for next season.
Chelsea’s long-term problem in the No.9 position is public knowledge, so it would be great if the club could finally find an heir to Didier Drogba’s throne in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Ivan Toney, who’s now 27, is a quality centre-forward linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Football London claimed last month that Chelsea are interested in signing Toney from Brentford this summer.
Incidentally, iNews reported last year that Brentford would want at least £40million for their striker’s sale.

TalkSPORT pundit Parlour has predicted there may be interest around Brentford’s talisman in the next few months.
When asked if Chelsea could be a fit for Toney, Parlour told talkSPORT: “Certainly, they definitely need a number nine.
“I don’t like to put people’s players in the window but I’m sure they’ll certainly be sniffing around someone like Ivan Toney.”

Toney’s form in the Premier League this year has been sublime, scoring 20 times in 32 league games.
In fact, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (35) and Tottenham’s Harry Kane (25) are the only players in the entire division to score more league goals than him this season.
The Brentford frontman has now proven he can score all types of goals in the Premier League, which includes being a set-piece specialist.
Could he handle the type of added pressure that would come with a big-money move to Chelsea, though?
Chelsea have tried so many high-profile names over the years that have failed in their striker position, so perhaps it’s time to look closer to home at some of the English talents in the Premier League.
