Reports from Spain have claimed that Real Madrid are now concerned about Chelsea as they look to secure their number one transfer target in the summer.
According to Sport, the Blues are interested in a deal to sign Alphonso Davies, who the Spanish giants consider as a bigger priority this summer than Kylian Mbappe.
Davies is yet to commit his future to Bayern Munich for the long-term, opening up an array of possibilities regarding where he could be playing his football next season.
Left-back is a position where Chelsea have struggled for depth all season, with their options spending more than enough time on the treatment table.
Ben Chilwell has again seen a large portion of his campaign sacrificed due to injury. He is still being eased back in now as the club approach the EFL Cup final at the end of this month.
He is currently the only recognised option for the role, with Marc Cucurella not fit for at least a few more weeks.
Madrid worried Chelsea will sign Davies
This has left many thinking Chelsea could do with strengthening in that role, and upgrades don’t come much better than the form of Davies.
Chelsea fans will be well aware of just how good he is after they saw him tear them apart in the Champions League back in 2020.
Obviously a player of his talent is on the radar of a number of elite clubs, with Madrid in particular concerned at Chelsea’s financial power.
It had been claimed that Chelsea have money to spend in the summer, with them still able to buy big without necessarily having to strip their assets.
One of the big ones whose future is in the air is Conor Gallagher, however his recent form could be turning some heads at last at Stamford Bridge in terms of keeping hold of him.
