Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante was instrumental in helping his side reach the Champions League final last night – and even some Real Madrid fans on Twitter were amazed by the performance of the midfielder against them.
The Blues beat Madrid 2-0 last night in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals, as they cruised into the final to set up a showdown with Manchester City in Istanbul.
After a 1-1 draw in Spain during last week’s first leg, Thomas Tuchel’s side were once again the much more impressive team against Madrid.
Timo Werner’s first-half goal put Chelsea ahead, and the hosts missed several opportunities to finish the tie.
However, another goal did came late in the second half through academy graduate Mason Mount, as he finished off a cross from Christian Pulisic.
Unfortunately, Madrid looked miles off the levels they’ve set as a club in recent years after being outplayed over two legs, but they remain a European giant that will surely be back.

A selection of Madrid supporters on social media couldn’t help appreciate the class of opposition player Kante.
The 30-year-old central midfielder picked up the man of the match award for his world-class performance, as he was his usual self in terms of covering every blade of grass on the pitch.
As well as that, he started off both attacking moves that lead to goals by stealing back possession for his side and playing forward.
He’s been performing at his very best this campaign, especially under Thomas Tuchel, and is proving why he’s still one of the world’s elite midfielders.
It’s very telling that he stood out on a pitch where he was up against the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro.
A selection of Madrid fans praised Kante:
