Patrick Vieira did not exclude Chelsea from the Premier League title charge after Crystal Palace held Manchester City last night.
Speaking after his side valiantly drew 0-0 with the reigning champions, Vieira spoke about the three sides still in the hunt for ultimate top-flight glory.
It’s all hotting once again
Palace managed to cut City’s lead at the summit to just four points, with Liverpool gaining ground by the day.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are on a run of eight consecutive league victories, conceding just twice in that period.
The last time they failed to win was actually against Chelsea, the pulsating 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge at the start of January.
Many feared the three-horse race had been run that evening, as a singular point really wasn’t enough for either team.
Fast forward to the middle of March and the scene is very different from before.
Thomas Tuchel’s men have won five on the spin and are now 11 points behind City with a game in hand.
Chelsea haven’t given up just yet
Whilst many still see no way back for the Blues, as long as it’s mathematically possible, hope will remain inside the Chelsea dressing room.
Especially considering City and Liverpool still need to play each other again, with the latter making the tricky trip to Arsenal tomorrow evening.
Klopp also has encounters versus Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa on the horizon.
Pep Guardiola meanwhile must overcome West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers before the campaign concludes.
For the neutral, it would be a brilliant spectacle if the crowning of the league went right to the wire.
“These three teams are in the best four or five in Europe,” said Vieira about Chelsea, City and Liverpool.
“You look at how they play, they make the game look easy, they have the quality, the technical ability to make the right decisions.
“It will be a really exciting end to the season for the title.”
