Cesc Fabregas is evidently a major fan of former Chelsea prodigy Jamal Musiala.

During a Q&A session on Twitter, Fabregas was asked who he believed to be the best young player in the world at the moment.

“I really like Musiala from Bayern Munich. Top talent, intelligent and it looks like he has great determination,” replied the silky Spaniard.

Fabregas might have heard whispers around Cobham about the 19-year-old whilst he was part of the Chelsea family.

Musiala would’ve only been in his early teens by the time the midfielder moved to Stamford Bridge in 2014.

Even then, there must’ve been rumours about this exciting prospect potentially coming through the ranks.

However, by the time Fabregas bid farewell to the Blues in 2019, Musiala’s career with the club was over.

Bayern Munich clearly recognised an opportunity to grab a gifted footballer, so decided to take a punt on the Chelsea youngster.

What a gamble it turned out to be.

It took Musiala less than 12 months after leaving South West London to make his senior Bayern debut.

At the innocent age of just 17, he became the German’s youngest ever debutant.

The records have continued to tumble down around the young star.

In November, he became the first teenager to make 100 appearances for the Bundesliga champions.

His eight league goals this season makes him Bayern’s top scorer.

He hasn’t just limited his abilities to club level, either.

Although Germany suffered a terrible World Cup exit in the group stage, Musiala was far and away their brightest spark.

The forward deserved much more than to head out of the competition early.

But there will be numerous other international tournaments on the horizon for the one of Chelsea’s most regrettable transfer decisions.
