Reece James makes honest admission about his new Chelsea teammates

Chelsea right-back Reece James has had his say on new Blues teammates whom he “enjoys” playing alongside.

The Blues have always been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market in the last two decades, but their recent spending spree still took many by surprise.

This includes some Chelsea players themselves. Thiago Silva, for example, previously admitted that he had never seen something like this in his whole career.

Chelsea completed eight incoming transfers in January and six of them — excluding Andrey Santos and Malo Gusto — are already part of Graham Potter’s first team.

While the arrivals of these new players also mean more competitions for spots, James relishes the opportunity to play with fresh faces.

“I quite enjoy playing with new players,” the Chelsea academy graduate told Sky Sports (via Football Daily).

“You don’t quite know what to expect from them.

“They all came in from different places all over the world and different teams, but they’re here to help at the end of the day.

“So, the quicker they’re comfortable and settled, the quicker they can maximise our help.”

As James pointed out, these players are here to help Chelsea reach their targets, which in the long term means trophies.

This also opens up possibilities for new link-ups on the pitch, including the growing partnership between James and Noni Madueke on the right side of the pitch.
