Reece James has told Vinicius Jr he is with him after he was sent off for Real Madrid against Valencia last night.

The Chelsea defender commented ‘I’m with you hermano’ on the comments of the Brazilian’s Instagram post as he sent a defiant message to those who have abused him.

Vinicius Jr saw red after a last-minute scuffle broke out off the back of the winger pointing out racist abuse directed at him from the stands.

It has not been the first time this season that the incident has been reported, although there have been very little punishments handed out as a result.

A number of Chelsea players took to the comment section of the winger’s Instagram post to offer their support. James, Trevoh Chalobah and loanee Romelu Lukaku were all seen defending the Brazil international.

Vinicius made his mark against the Blues in the Champions League earlier this season, giving Wesley Fofana a rude welcoming to the Champions League with a dominant first leg performance.

This season’s clash followed two consecutive seasons of matches between the two sides where the victor would go on to win the entire tournament.

In those fixtures, it has been commonly accepted that James has got the better of his opponent in their individual matchups, often pulling off some of the best performances of his career.

It looks as if the Englishman’s season has come to an end after a number of injuries continued to get the better of him as the campaign went on.

Watching the treatment of Cesar Azpilicueta up against Manchester City’s youthful left-hand-side, Chelsea supporters will be looking forward already to when a hopefully fully fit James is back at his best on the right of their defence.
