Olivier Giroud is not showing any signs of wanting to extend his current contract with Chelsea, having seriously falling out of favour with the powers that be.
According to Goal, the experienced striker is reluctant to renew his deal after repeatedly being overlooked by Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea are prepared to enter into discussions about locking down the 34-year-old for a short-term agreement.

This would require Giroud to feature in a cameo role, something he is already enduring.
The France international has been a fine servant since signing from Arsenal in 2018 for £18m (BBC Sport).
He was heavily involved in the Europa League triumph under Maurizio Sarri and played a pivotal part in Chelsea reaching this season’s Champions League semi-final.
However, there has always been another forward ahead of him in the pecking order, which is a detriment to his legacy.

Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have pretty much replaced him in Tuchel’s side, with Tammy Abraham also struggling to get a look in.
Giroud’s last start in any competition was the FA Cup victory against Sheffield United last month.
His only previous start before that was at home to Manchester United in the Premier League at the end of February.

There will be no shortage of suitors who would be willing to snap Giroud up should he depart Stamford Bridge.
But it will be a sad sight to see a player of such quality leave without very little in the shape of a goodbye service.
