Reports have claimed that Conor Gallagher currently has no intentions of leaving Chelsea.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United have made an enquiry over bringing him to St. James’ Park this month.

The midfielder started against Crystal Palace at the weekend, and impressed as the Blues picked up a much needed 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

He started in a youthful midfield that consisted of Mason Mount and Carney Chukwuemeka, however his impressive performance in a pivot role will perhaps be the most interesting factor of his display on Sunday.

Gallagher’s performances under Thomas Tuchel were often criticised, with many suggesting he was being played out of position after watching him thrive on loan at Palace.

This season has marked the first one where the 22-year-old has been genuinely considered as an option at the club he has been at since 2008.

Gallagher doesn’t want to leave Chelsea

Now, the Daily Mail have claimed that he has no desire to leave the club based on his current situation.

Graham Potter is reportedly a big fan of the England international, and that has been proven by the faith he has placed on him since taking over at the club.

The next few months could provide Gallagher his best chance yet to become a regular at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho is currently expected to leave at the end of the season when his contract expires.

N’golo Kante’s deal also ends when the current campaign comes to an end, however there is belief at the club that he will sign a new one.

Nevertheless, his injury record has left the Blues unable to rely on him anymore, and although there are rumours they will heavily invest in the position, Gallagher certainly has the opportunity to stake his claim for future seasons.
