Antonio Rudiger is reportedly disturbed by the merry-go-round of coaches Chelsea continue to wheel out, which is impacting his contract situation.

This is according to the Times, who claim the German is not satisfied by the repeated change in management at Stamford Bridge.

Since his £29m (BBC) move from Roma in 2017, Rudiger has played under four different managers.

Antonio Conte oversaw his initial arrival before he was replaced by Maurizio Sarri the following term.

Then came Frank Lampard, who was removed from his post in January, paving the way for Thomas Tuchel to takeover.

Across his four-year spell, Rudiger has generally been a dependable figure at the heart of defence.

The only real blotch on his otherwise excellent record was the period of exclusion under Lampard last season.

Around that time, he was apparently close to joining Paris Saint-Germain, with offers from Tottenham Hotspur also on the table.

However, Rudiger remained at Chelsea and what a good decision it turned out to be.

Tuchel instantly went about reinstalling his compatriot in the back-line, which contributed to the Blues’ defensive renovation.

His efforts in the Champions League earned him a nomination for UEFA’s Defender of the Year, alongside Cesar Azpilicueta.

Which is just one of the reasons why Chelsea are eager to extend his deal, as it expires next June.

Although talks are underway, there are no clear signs that the 28-year-old will agree to elongate his stay.

Mudded by the managerial uncertainties, Rudiger has every right to feel a little cautious about committing his future.
