Reports have claimed that Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly is now open to a move to Saudi Arabia.

According to Sports Zone, the defender is open to the move if a deal can be agreed between the two sides.

It was a difficult first campaign in England for Koulibaly, who joined with plenty of excitement following a number of years in Italy.

However, he struggled to establish himself as a dominant force, leaving him prone to mistakes at the back.

This saw him prone to being left out the side, something which was completely unexpected when he made his move to Chelsea last summer.

With Benoit Badiashile’s addition in January, and the return of Levi Colwill from his loan at Brighton, the Blues are not short on options to play on the left of the centre-back duo or trio.

Koulibaly has Saudi Arabia offer

This could see the Senegal international become surplus to requirements. It has already been claimed today that it is unlikely he remains at Stamford Bridge when the upcoming summer window comes to a close.

However, he now could secure himself a big payday by getting himself a move to Saudi Arabia, who have already made their presence known in terms of interest in Chelsea players.

It has been claimed that N’golo Kante is very close to securing his move out there, with his contract coming to an end in just a few weeks’ time.

The Blues will need to invest this summer in midfielders, with it likely that both the Frenchman and Mateo Kovacic make moves away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

It has been claimed they are keen on Moises Caicedo from Brighton, with it expected that they are going to make another big move for him in the coming days.
