Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell is reportedly in contention for England’s UEFA Nations League games against Iceland on Wednesday despite his back injury.
The 23-year-old was forced off in England’s 2-0 defeat to Belgium on Sunday.
England boss Gareth Southgate confirmed they will have to make a further check but, according to a report from the Evening Standard, the injury is not as bad as first feared.

The report claims that the left-back will be available for the Iceland clash.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law detailed on Twitter that the defender had an issue with a back spasm, which stemmed from the long travel prior to the game.
However, Southgate is also said to be under pressure from Premier League managers to rotate his side for the dead-rubber to protect their stars.

Therefore, Chilwell will hopefully be rested for the game and given time to recover before heading back to Chelsea.
The Blues are visiting Newcastle United’s St James’ Park on Saturday and Frank Lampard will certainly want his first-choice men available in order to continue their form prior to the international break.
Chilwell has started Chelsea’s last eight games, including their last five Premier League matches.
