The star addition is undoubtedly Enzo Fernandez, off the back of a sensational World Cup winning campaign.

The Blues faced tough negotiations against Benfica, but eventually made a breakthrough in the final moments of the window to get what proved to be a club record deal over the line.

They also went to great lengths to address the glaring issues in attack. They have brought in Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke in an attempt to bring some much-needed goal threat to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea wanted Antonio in January

The Athletic have claimed they were also interested in the Premier League proven Antonio as a potential option up front for the rest of the season.

The report goes on to say he is now likely to leave at the end of the season.

The West Ham man has already had his say on one of Chelsea’s January signings.

When discussing Mudryk with fellow striker Callum Wilson, he stated that the Blues have taken a massive risk in giving the Ukrainian a contract as long as they have, whilst the player may have also restricted himself from a move in the future.

The 22-year-old has already impressed when making his debut at Anfield, suggesting already that he has the potential to be an important player for Chelsea. With Christopher Nkunku set to join the club at the end of the season, it is unlikely the Blues return with interest for Antonio.
