Reports have claimed that Chelsea will have the opportunity to sign Marc Guehi if he is on the move this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues have a clause that allows them to match any offer which Crystal Palace accept for the defender.

Guehi left the club in 2021 despite showing signs of promise particularly when Frank Lampard was originally in charge of the club. Even Thomas Tuchel noticed his ability, describing him as ‘fantastic’.

They got a sizeable fee for the relatively unproven centre-back from across London, however that promise has indeed led to talent in the Premier League.

He has become captain of the club and a regular in the top flight, whilst making his debut for his country in the process.

Chelsea could sign Guehi

It has not taken long for elite sides to notice his talent, with Arsenal and Spurs reportedly interested in striking a deal. Any interest will keep the Blues in the mix due to a clause that allows them to match any offer for his services.

Centre-back is probably a position the club are not going to be too keen on investing in at the moment.

This season they have added Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile to their ranks, with the young Frenchmen already looking promising for the next few years.

This coincides with the imminent return to the club of loanee Levi Colwill, who has enjoyed a very successful campaign with overachievers Brighton.

There is a lot of hopes that the young Englishman will choose to commit his future to Stamford Bridge, when there has already been speculation that he will leave for first team football.

Expected new manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a big fan of the youngster, giving Blues fans some hope that he may remain with them for the foreseeable future.
