Reports have claimed that a number of clubs are interested in bringing in Lewis Hall on loan next season.

According to The Athletic, those interested however are not completely sure on what his best position is, and therefore how to get the best out of it.

It has certainly been a breakout season for Hall, with first team opportunities coming sporadically where they really didn’t look like they would be available.

He was thrown in to some big games just before the World Cup by Graham Potter, and his performances saw him called up to the first team on a regular basis.

Praise has been high for the 18-year-old this season. Pat Nevin has claimed that he is a ‘special talent’.

With his age likely to mean he will not be a regular in the first team for a little while, a loan move away from Stamford Bridge could be in his best interests for next season.

Hall wanted on loan

However, clubs may be slightly concerned that the Blues haven’t really utilised the teenager in his best position.

Hall’s appearances have been limited to a left-back, as a deputy for Ben Chilwell who has endured another tough season as far as injuries are concerned.

However, he has said himself he feels far more comfortable in a midfield role, and would surely benefit from regular football at a good level in that position.

He was recently called up to the England U20 team for the World Cup in Argentina, however Chelsea blocked this call-up due to the requirement of him being part of the first team following injuries.

A loan spell away next season would certainly be the best conclusion for both parties, with him already showing plenty of promise that he has a bright future.
