Chelsea are reportedly watching defender Josh Doig at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian as a potential target.
According to Sky Sports, the Blues are “closely monitoring” the 18-year-old alongside both Arsenal and Celtic.
Doig is an upcoming talent that has featured regularly for top-flight Scottish side Hibernian this season, playing 19 games across all competitions.
The Scottish left-back has been drafted into the first team after a successful loan spell in the second half of last season at fourth-tier club Queen’s Park.
Queen’s Park boss Ray McKinnon has previously spoken very highly of the Hibs teenager, stating that everyone made comparisons between him and Liverpool’s left-back Andy Robertson.
26-year-old Robertson started his senior career at Queen’s Park and has gone on to win both the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool.
“[Doig] was absolutely unbelievable for us last season. He was outstanding. His athleticism, he was up and down, he was brilliant and everybody was making comparisons with Andy Robertson,” McKinnon told the Edinburgh Evening News last July.

It’s slightly unfair to burden any youngster with comparisons to one of the world’s elite left-backs, but he should take it as a compliment.
Doig is still a relatively unknown talent, but Chelsea do have a knack of finding the best and they once picked up Billy Gilmour from Rangers’ academy.
Chelsea have long-term solutions at right-back with Tino Livramento one Blues academy star that could perhaps challenge Reece James in the future, but maybe they could do with an upcoming left-back to become understudy to Ben Chilwell further down the line.
