Chelsea are being linked with a move for exciting midfielder Moises Caicedo at Ecuadorian top-flight club Independiente del Valle.
According to El Telegraph, the Blues and Dutch giants Ajax have both made approaches to try sign the 19-year-old.
The reports explains that Manchester United have been linked with the teenager, but the club have confirmed that there has been no contact for the player yet from Old Trafford officials.
Caicedo is a highly-rated youngster that has already earned four senior international caps for Ecuador.
The South American is a central midfielder being tipped with a move across to Europe and he explained in an interview that he idolises Chelsea star N’Golo Kante to help mould his game.
“I’m a good ‘5’, I move well and encourage my team-mates. My reference is N’Golo Kante. He is a great footballer and moves all over the field,” he said, as quoted by Planet Football.
Kante, 29, has been regarded as one of the most elite midfielders in the world during the past five years since he burst onto the scene to help Leicester City win a Premier League title.
The Frenchman is an expert defensive midfielders that breaks up play, has great stamina and is such a key figure in Frank Lampard’s XI at Stamford Bridge.
If Chelsea do press ahead their approach for Caicedo, he would surely link up with the club’s talented youth side and he’d have the perfect role model in Kante.
