Reports have claimed that Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Kendry Paez from Independiente del Valle.

According to Sport via Sport Witness, the Blues have thrown everything at the wall in order to secure the signing which could rise to be up to £17.5m.

The 15-year-old has already made his first team debut, and is impressing greatly already in his bid to become the next big star.

He recently appeared on Chelsea’s radar as they looked to rival the likes of Barcelona in an attempt to capture the young talent.

Signing young players has become a huge part of Todd Boehly’s identity since taking over at Stamford Bridge, with a number of promising stars already joining the club.

Carney Chukwuemeka joined with a real fanfare back last summer, however minutes have been hard to come by in West London since making the move from Aston Villa.

This doesn’t seem to be the young Englishman’s fault either, given reports that he has been impressing all season in training.

In January, they captured Andrey Santos from Brazil, before watching him put in a player of the tournament campaign at the U20 South American championships.

While he wasn’t originally handed a work permit, there is plenty of excitement around the club regarding the impact he can have.

Now, it has been reported that they are set to add another young name to their ranks, with Paez the latest to be close to making the move to England.

It has been widely claimed that he will not be available to play for the Blues until 2025, when he turns 18.

Despite the dire season that has currently been taking place, the fact that there is regular investment into the future suggests that there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
