Chelsea has reportedly made a colossal eight-figure bid to try to sign Juventus defender Mattia Caldara.
According to the Evening Standard, the Blues have submitted a £35.5million offer for the centre-back.
It is understood Chelsea have been keen on Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, but their patience is wearing thin and they have now allegedly switched attention to his teammate.

The report details that AC Milan are also keen on Caldara and he could be part of a potential swap deal involving Leonardo Bonucci.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri appears to be in the market for a new player in the heart of defence.
And he has made an attempt to try to sign a player currently on the books at Juventus.
Caldara is yet to make his debut for the Turin giants, going back on loan to Atalanta last season.

However, he is a highly-rated ace who has been impressing in Serie A and earned his first senior international cap for Italy this year.
The 24-year-old was a mainstay in the Atalanta back line last season and does have experience of European football.
Chelsea is keen on a new centre-back despite already having plenty of potential options.
