Chelsea are sizing up Romelu Lukaku as a possible alternative if they fail to secure Erling Haaland, according to Eurosport.
Haaland is the top priority signing for the Blues this summer, but they may seek a contingency plan if this move for Borussia Dortmund’s sensational striker falls through.
Instead, they could turn to Inter Milan’s own fantastic forward, Lukaku.

The 27-year-old is setting the world alight at Milan since his major move from Manchester United in 2019.
Former Inter player, Nicola Ventola, believed that Lukaku’s stardom at the San Siro made him ‘better than Harry Kane’ (BOBO TV).
59 goals in 89 appearances for the Serie A giants is a timely reminder of why the Belgian remains as one of the sports deadliest marksmen.
It is also a constant cue for Chelsea fans to rue what could have been.
Lukaku signed for the Blues from Anderlecht almost a decade ago, but only played 15 times for the first team.

He was sent out on loan to West Bromwich Albion and Everton, before joining the Toffees permanently.
Goals have flown in wherever he’s landed, except at Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea could try to change that if they do look to Lukaku in Haaland’s absence.

I would be absolutely all over this transfer.
Of course, Haaland should remain number one on the wish list, but I don’t think there’s many better alternatives out there than Lukaku.
Granted, he may have concerns about returning to Chelsea.
Yet, the project going on under Thomas Tuchel should be able to entice anyone.
Not to mention the eye-watering fee that will be thrown at him.
