Reports have claimed that Chelsea are interested in the signing of Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto this summer.

According to Gazzetta, the Italy international is on the radar of a number of elite Premier League clubs, with the Blues making their interest known as one of those.

The 19-year-old is enjoying personal success in his first full season in the top flight of English football, despite his side struggling towards the bottom of the table.

His best performance of the campaign arguably came against Manchester United, when he opened the scoring early before they picked up an important draw at Old Trafford.

Gnonto has delivered on a number of occasions however. Gary Neville was quick to praise him as a ‘rare talent’ after a performance against Aston Villa.

His impressive displays have not gone unnoticed by the Italian national team either. He is now a regular for the first team after making his debut in June last year.

Chelsea want Gnonto

It now seems as if his impressive abilities are beginning to become noticed among the top clubs in Europe, with Chelsea one of those linked with a deal.

The winger position has already undergone a lot of change this season, with it likely to continue to do so when this campaign comes to an end.

The Blues signed Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke for big money in January, with them hoping that both additions will be stars of the future.

This looks set to see them replace two of the current first team members in the long run. Both Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are more than likely to be on the move at the end of the season.

The Morocco international was reportedly close to a loan move to high-flying PSG back in January, however an error on Chelsea’s side saw it fall through in the final minutes.

This however is almost certainly going to be rectified by a sale in the summer.
