Chelsea reportedly won’t hesitate in shipping out Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, which has put Borussia Dortmund on red alert.

According to Eurosport, the Blues will happily listen to offers for Hudson-Odoi when the transfer window opens.

Having dropped rapidly down Thomas Tuchel’s pecking order, the 20-year-old hasn’t started a Premier League game since April.

Life began rather brightly under the new coach, but Hudson-Odoi quickly fell out of favour and now looks surplus to requirements heading into next season.

With the £120,000-a-week (Eurosport) winger seemingly shaping up to be sold, Dortmund’s interest has been spiked.

The Bundesliga side are preparing for life after Jadon Sancho, who looks set to depart BVB after four years of fine service.

Manchester United are said to be in the best position to sign England’s exciting forward.

However, Chelsea have apparently asked to be kept in the loop regarding Sancho’s movements.

A report from the Sun suggested a huge bid was being lined up by the Blues to sign Dortmund’s youthful attacker.

When Sancho does leave, another talented wide player will need to take his place.

Step forward Hudson-Odoi.

His ability cannot be questioned, but the irregularity of game time has halted what is still a promising career.

A move to Germany wouldn’t be the most unusual decision either for Chelsea’s academy star.

Bayern Munich repeatedly tried to prise Hudson-Odoi away from Stamford Bridge, with their efforts eventually extinguished.

As much as I think Callum still has a role to play at Chelsea, I feel his development might be best suited elsewhere.

And where better to do so than Dortmund? Sancho is a prime example of a young, English player going abroad and excelling.

Plus, imagine his link up with Erling Haaland…
