Report: Chelsea player convinced to stay after meeting with Tuchel

Chelsea have received positive news that Tino Anjorin will not be going anywhere in the transfer window after having positive talks with Thomas Tuchel.

Liam Twomey of the Athletic shared the news that the 19-year-old would be staying put at his boyhood club amidst rumours he may be leaving.

Several top Championship and European sides have shown interest in capturing Anjorin on-loan this month, however he is motivated to fight for first-team opportunities at Chelsea instead.

Twomey reported that the young midfielder had spoken positively with Tuchel about his future and that said that his development would improve best at Stamford Bridge.

This will come as welcomed information to the Chelsea fans who feared that their youngsters wouldn’t be given a chance under the new regime.

Tuchel has yet to include him in either of his matchday squads that has also seen fellow Cobham graduate Billy Gilmour excluded twice.

Like Anjorin, Gilmour had been linked with a move away but the Athletic also believed the Scottish midfield wanted to prove himself at Chelsea.

The Blues face Barnsley in the FA Cup next month, which offers an opportunity for Anjorin and Gilmour to demonstrate their ability in a less pressured environment.

Anjorin has only made four appearances with the seniors but has always given a good account of himself whenever called upon by Frank Lampard.

He has been a bi-product of the Chelsea academy ever since he was seven years old and has risen through the ranks to his promising position today.

There have been no updates on what might happen to Anjorin over the summer. Chelsea have been heavily linked with some big names from the Bundesliga and their arrival would certainly push him down the roster.

Is Tuchel finally ending the cycle of sending promising youngsters out on loan? I sure do hope so, especially ones as talented as Anjorin and Gilmour.

He will find chances difficult to come by at the moment considering Chelsea’s delicate position, which means Anjorin will have to grab the moments he is afforded by both hands and not let go.
