Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall will reportedly be in first-team training for the rest of the week in preparation for Saturday’s trip to Newcastle United.
Hall, 18, enjoyed a really eye-catching performance during Wednesday night’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.
The versatile Blues teenager excelled as the left wing-back against Man City, with Micah Richards tipping him as potentially another gem to come through the academy at Cobham.
It’s easy to forget it was only his second ever first-team appearance because he looked a natural at the Etihad Stadium.

Lewis Hall in first-team training
According to Football London, Chelsea are expected to keep Hall as part of the senior group on both Thursday and Friday ahead the weekend’s game.
The report says the 18-year-old will be training with the main squad in the build up to the important Premier League fixture away to Newcastle
He’ll hope that he may be in line for a first Premier League appearance, especially given Ben Chilwell is currently not an option at left-back because of his injury.

It would come as a surprise if Hall keeps his spot in the starting XI on the weekend, but the early pattern into Potter’s reign as manager is that it’s impossible to predicted his line-ups.
He more than held his own against a Man City side that fielded a lot of quality players.
However, this weekend’s game at St James’ Park against an in-form Newcastle may be equally as difficult.
The positive news is that Hall definitely appears to be forcing his way into more first-team plans, so let’s hope we see more of him post-World Cup.
