Report: Chelsea to hold talks over 25-year-old leaving, just days after he rejoins pre-season
Representatives from Chelsea and Flamengo are set to converse soon over the possible sale or loan of Kenedy.
This is according to UOL, who say Flamengo’s vice president Marcos Braz and director Bruno Spindel have a meeting scheduled with members of the Blues board about Kenedy’s future.
The 25-year-old only returned to pre-season training last week, having reportedly been camped up in Rio di Janeiro whilst his situation was being sorted out.
Now back at Cobham, the Flamengo powers are planning to prise the Brazilian away from Stamford Bridge ahead of the upcoming campaign.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
Kenedy hasn’t had much of a chance to impress Thomas Tuchel, permitted he wants to remain at Chelsea for another term.
He was on loan with Granada last year and made quite an impact upon his Spanish employees.
In 44 appearances, the versatile winger scored eight goals.
His flexibility arises from the fact he played most of his football for the La Liga side as a wing-back, which could come in handy in Tuchel’s favoured formation.
Since his last outing for the Blues in 2018, he’s featured for Newcastle United, Getafe, and then Granada.
Such is the case with every returning loanee, Kenedy can attempt to wangle his way into Chelsea’s squad if he is not shipped out before too long.
With three recognised left-backs already stationed in the team, the former Fluminense prodigy might struggle to find opportunities more than most.
