Reports from Italy have claimed that Chelsea will need to spend big in order to secure the signing of Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Blues will have to spend £150m in order to beat rival clubs and convince the Italian side to part ways with their superstar.

This season could be described as a breakout one for Osimhen, however that would feel like a disservice. The striker has 21 goals already in Serie A this season, as his side sit a long way clear at the top of the table.

He has carried that form into Europe too, recently scoring a brace in the Round of 16 victory that set up an intriguing route to the final.

While Chelsea will have to go through Real Madrid and then either Bayern Munich or Manchester City, Napoli face AC Milan, before either Benfica or Inter Milan for a date in Istanbul.

Osimhen will cost Chelsea £150m

The report has stated that Osimhen is keen to win everything possible with his current side this season, although acknowledges that he will have a decision to make at the end of the campaign.

Chelsea are a side who will almost certainly be looking to invest in a striker this summer, given the inconsistencies they have found in that position up to now.

Despite Kai Havertz finding the net in three consecutive games now, he has not been able to prove in his time at the club that he can be relied upon as a regular source of goals.

They will be welcoming RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku this summer, however he has already stated he works best playing off a recognised striker.

Based on this season alone, there are not much better out there than Osimhen.
