The takeover saga at Chelsea may reportedly be reaching its conclusion in the next few days.
According to BBC Sport, the preferred bidder may be chosen by the end of this week.
The report explains that the three remaining bidders to buy Chelsea will make their final pitches to club executives this week.
It’s well covered that the consortiums still in the running to become the next owners are led by Todd Boehly, Sir Martin Broughton and Steve Pagliuca.
Blues fans have had an extremely anxious wait over the last few weeks while the field is whittled down to a final shortlist, but it’s been a fairly rapid process given BBC Sport’s claim that a takeover could usually take up to a year.
Apparently, Chelsea bidders have been asked to make a long-term commitment to the London club by pledging to keep ownership for at least years.

Transfer focus for next Chelsea owners
For certain, there’s plenty of work to do this summer at Chelsea for the new ownership.
Every Blues supporter is hopeful that their manager Thomas Tuchel is given room and financial support to dip into the summer transfer market.
With Antonio Rudiger’s summer exit confirmed, finding his replacement is an obvious place to start in the summer window.
In fact, Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde has reportedly been reassured by Chelsea he’ll be one of their first signings once sanctions are lifted on them. The talented 23-year-old French defender would be a great place to start.
Elsewhere, Tuchel needs to ask himself if there’s enough goals in his forward line. Some may consider Chelsea to have an ageing midfield, too.
This first transfer window under new ownership is going to hugely determine how they’re welcomed by the club’s fanbase.
