Julian Nagelsmann is one individual whose name was strongly linked with Chelsea’s manager job earlier this month.

Julian Nagelsmann, who’s just 35, was rumoured to be one of the frontrunners to take charge at Stamford Bridge.

However, the German coach ended up withdrawing from the race.

The Daily Mail claims that Nagelsmann withdrew himself from the Chelsea managerial race due to serious concerns about the club’s recruitment process.

Incidentally, The Times now claims that Chelsea could officially offer the job to Mauricio Pochettino by Saturday night.

According to Miguel Delaney’s newsletter, Nagelsmann’s Chelsea deal would have been one of the biggest in footballing history.

The report explains that the 35-year-old out-of-work manager was making considerable demands.

In addition, Tottenham are now pitching to land Nagelsmann as they conduct their own search to find a permanent manager for next season.

We certainly want to see the former Bayern Munich head coach operating in the Premier League and joining the list of elite managers working in our country, but if it happens it will be in the away dugout at Stamford Bridge.

Tony Cascarino previously told The Times’ The Game Football Podcast that Nagelsmann plays a brand of “crazy football”.

Pochettino definitely feels like a safer and more experienced pair of hands for the Premier League.

We’ve seen this Chelsea ownership make some really poor off-field decisions during their first year in charge, so it feels like they’re already walking on very thin ice with the fanbase.

Hopefully, they can get this next managerial decision spot on.

Everything in the media points towards 51-year-old manager Pochettino, and we’re sure the supporters will push his Spurs career to one side and get behind him from the start of next season.
