Erling Haaland is not keen on coming to the Premier League yet because of what happened to Fernando Torres during his Chelsea career, according to the Independent.

Miguel Delaney suggested that the Borussia Dortmund striker wants to eventually end up in England, but not anytime soon.

Because of the league’s physically challenging nature, those blessed with power seem to burn out more rapidly.

Haaland and his father identified the likes Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and the turmoiled Torres as players who all had to adapt their game having announced themselves at such a young age.

The fantastic forward is still only 20-years-old but it’s safe to say he’s established himself at the highest level – much like Torres had done before his £50m (BBC Sport) move from Liverpool to Chelsea in 2011.

He went from finishing third in the 2008 Ballon d’or nominations with the Reds to suffering a 24-goal match goal drought between October and March for the Blues.

His was a story of great expectations and generally massive disappointments.

Chelsea would certainly hope the same wouldn’t happen to Haaland if they did manage to land his priceless signature.

Sky Sports suggested there was great interest from the London club to sign Norway’s next footballing icon.

They might have to wait a little while longer to tempt Haaland away from Germany, though.

The Chelsea Chronicle View

I’m majorly torn over this. Part of me wants Haaland to stay at Dortmund for a little while longer, just so he can work on his trade even more.

Another side of me thinks if Chelsea don’t act soon, they’ll miss their chance entirely.
