Manchester United have already enquired about the availability of Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel for a possible switch this summer, according to Sky Germany.
This may sound silly considering Tuchel is under contract at Chelsea until 2024.
From Manchester United’s point of view, however, this is a potential opportunity to bring in one of the best managers in the world.
Tuchel has never hinted at his desire to leave the club, but like every player and staff at Chelsea, his future at the club will depend on their next owners ahead of the expected takeover.
The report also claims that Manchester United are not the only club to have positioned themselves in case Tuchel becomes available. It is just that they are reportedly the most eager, which is hardly a surprise given their plan to hire a new manager this summer.
Sky Germany transfer expert Marc Behrenbeck, however, believes that Tuchel is not interested in other projects but Chelsea, at least for now.

“Why should he leave? He likes the team, his family is happy, and he is really admired there,” Behrenbeck said.
The potential new Chelsea owners, whoever they are, also do not have any reason to replace Tuchel with another manager.
While Chelsea are effectively out of the Premier League title race, they have already won two trophies this season are still fighting in two other competitions; the FA Cup and the Champions League.
Not to mention that Tuchel’s men are in a rather comfortable position in the race for the top-four finish in the league.
