Report: How Roman Abramovich really feels about selling Chelsea

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich reportedly still has huge love for Chelsea despite his plans to sell the club.

According to The Athletic, Abramovich’s love for Chelsea is “as strong as ever” right now.

The report claims the 55-year-old’s statement earlier in the week was “painful” for him to release.

He’s announced publicly his intention to sell Chelsea, so once a new buyer is found he’ll be waving goodbye to the London club he purchased back in 2003.

Abramovich being genuinely upset about his expected departure is a reason why he’s received so much love and support from the fanbase in the last week. Everyone is extremely grateful to have an owner for nearly two decades inject so much into a club he obviously cares about.

The worry for Blues fans moving forward is that the new ownership may not share the same vision.

Chelsea players dealing with distractions

There is so much takeover talk surrounding Stamford Bridge right now, so big credit to the Blues players and staff for getting on with business on the pitch.

A 4-0 away win away to Burnley on Saturday afternoon was impressive in a potential banana skin fixture.

Incidentally, one of Abramovich’s marquee signings Kai Havertz showed his class with two goals in today’s league success.

There is so much to play for in the next few months for the side while business gets taken care of off it.
