Report: Kalidou Koulibaly is trying to convince 30-year-old Chelsea teammate to join him in Saudi Arabia

Reports have claimed that Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is still the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, teammate Kalidou Koulibaly is now working on trying to convince the 30-year-old about the project.

The future for Lukaku is currently unclear, as he prepares to return to Stamford Bridge after a loan spell away.

He spent his season at Inter Milan, which brought great success as well as heartbreak on a personal level in the Champions League final.

The Belgian missed a massive chance with a minute to go, as his side fell 1-0.He would personally love to play for the Serie A side again next year, however Chelsea are not playing ball in terms of making it easy.

They are reportedly not looking to accept another loan move for the striker, and Inter simply don’t seem to have the money to sign him.

Koulibaly convincing Lukaku of Saudi Arabia

This may see him look elsewhere in order to get out of West London, with interest already coming his way from Saudi Arabia.

Reports have claimed he has originally rejected any approaches to play there next season, despite being tempted after an original meeting.

Now though, his friend Koulibaly is reportedly trying to convince him that it’s the place to be.

The Senegal international is about to confirm his move away from Chelsea after just one underwhelming season, with terms being agreed for him to accept a lucrative offer.

Despite Mauricio Pochettino reportedly being open to working with Lukaku at Chelsea next season, it seems best for everyone if this whole episode of a transfer can be put behind everyone.

If not, they risk him becoming a virus at the club, ruining all the work they are doing right now.
