Reports have claimed that N’golo Kante is hoping to secure a deal that sees him remain at Chelsea for at least the next three years.
According to The Evening Standard, the Blues have so far been unwilling to offer a deal which is longer than two guaranteed years at Stamford Bridge.
Injuries have completely wrecked Kante’s season this year, with him unable to have an impact on the club in a tough moment.

He has been missing since the second game against the season, where he was forced off in the second half against Tottenham. Perhaps a sign for how things were set to go this year, the Blues conceded in the 96th minute to Harry Kane when he was off the pitch.
Kante has not been available once for selection for example to current manager Graham Potter, who has been forced to scramble in the face of an injury crisis across the pitch.
Kante wants to stay at Chelsea
This makes a decision regarding his long-term future extremely difficult. The club have to weigh his importance when he is fit against how often they have been able to rely on him in recent times.
The Evening Standard are reporting that Kante’s ambition to stay is not being questioned, with him showing plenty of hope to remain in West London.

However, the report goes on to say that the club’s ownership are not looking to offer more than two years, with an option for a third.
The Blues will be looking to find a partner for Enzo Fernandez, after the club-record signing joined in the final hours of January.
A player with the traits of Kante would certainly counteract Fernandez’s brilliance technically, however there have been reports that they are instead looking to sign their perfect replacement.
