Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly prepared to abandon his plan to take a short break until the summer before looking for a return to management amid talks with Chelsea.
It was less than two weeks ago when Bayern Munich made the surprising announcement that they decided to replace Nagelsmann with Thomas Tuchel.
It is therefore very easy to understand why the 35-year-old originally planned not to take a new position at least until the summer.
However, an opportunity to return to management at a top club does not come easy, and Chelsea, who just sacked Graham Potter after a disappointing seven months, want a new manager as soon as possible.
The Blues reportedly approached the German not long after and, according to Sky Germany, managed to convince him to change his mind.
Nagelsmann is now said to be open to an immediate return after positive talks with the London club.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg adds on Twitter that “things are looking good” for Nagelsmann following contact with Chelsea.
Sky Germany, however, also highlighted that there is still no final decision from Chelsea, however, as the club hierarchy are still in talks with other candidates first.
The report repeats that Bayern will look for compensation because Nagelsmann is still under contract until 2026 despite his dismissal.
The Bundesliga champions reportedly paid RB Leipzig €25million in compensation in 2021 for the manager, so they might want to recoup some of it back.
That said, from a financial perspective, Nagelsmann’s joining Chelsea would benefit Bayern, too, since it means they would no longer owe him his salary.
