Reports have claimed that Todd Boehly is not currently looking to sanction a bid for Chelsea to sign Jan Oblak.
According to the Evening Standard, the Blues had made contact over a potential move a few years ago, although were quickly scared off due to the outrageous release clause.
The Blues goalkeeper situation looked set to be sorted for a number of years after Edouard Mendy impressed beyond belief in his opening two seasons at Stamford Bridge.

However, this season has been a difficult one for the Senegal international, with him making a number of mistakes in what’s been a tough start to the campaign in general for the Blues.
With a new manager in charge in the form of Graham Potter, no one’s place is safe in the team and with an injury to Mendy, Kepa Arrizabalaga was handed the opportunity to impress in the Champions League game against RB Salzburg.
Chelsea not in for Oblak
Mendy’s contract situation is also now up in the air, with him currently being one of the lowest paid first team players in the squad.
This leans into what the Evening Standard have claimed, with them stating Boehly has drafted a list of potential goalkeeper additions if the Mendy situation doesn’t improve on all fronts.

However, the report has claimed that Oblak is not currently one of those names, with him being touted as the next goalkeeper for Tottenham after Hugo Lloris departs.
With the Blues awaiting the arrival of highly-rated young goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, who they loaned back to the MLS for the remainder of their season, there’s a question to be asked if they need to address the goalkeeper situation.
The owners would do well to remember or learn about just how good Mendy has been since making the move to Stamford Bridge too, with him surely earning the requested rise in wage he is reportedly looking for.
