The Ricketts family are reportedly going to appoint Lord Karan Bilimoria as a director if they become the new owners of Chelsea.
According to Sky Sports, long-term Blues fan Bilimoria will be named on the club’s board, permitting the American-led bid is successful.
Who is Lord Karan Bilimoria?
The 60-year-old is the founder of Cobra Beer, establishing the company in a small Fulham flat.
He is also the founding chairman of the UK India Business Council, as well as being the chair of Change the Race Ratio.

His other accolades include being appointed Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea and earning the title of chancellor of the University of Birmingham.
Bilimoria’s love for Chelsea began when he was living just down the road from Stamford Bridge.
The Ricketts family are still in the race
Adding a supporter to the team is quite a wise move from the Ricketts family, who are still attempting to win over some of the fanbase.
They faced backlash from certain sections of the Blues community, following nasty comments made by Joe Ricketts via email a few years ago.
But despite some opposition – which included a small protest outside the Bridge ahead of the home game against Brentford – the Ricketts’ consortium remains in a decent position to replace Roman Abramovich.
The Chicago Cubs owners, along with three other candidates, are waiting potentially to hear the announcement from the Premier League and the UK government whether their efforts to buy Chelsea have been cleared.

Parties fronted by Todd Boehly, Stephen Pagliuca and Sir Martin Broughton are also jostling for the top spot.
Pagliuca recently spoke publicly about the Blues, as he attempts to move his wealth across the pond.
The Boston Celtic co-owner wished Thomas Tuchel’s team luck ahead of the Champions League tie against Real Madrid.
That’s certainly one way to start on the right foot with potentially your new employees.
