Chelsea have reportedly given potential buyers a staggering figure when it comes to the value of the current squad at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Athletic, brochures sent to potential investors of the club value the current playing squad at £795million.

It is explained there are “saleable assets” on the books, with plenty of the players currently out on loan not set for a long-term future at the club.

For certain, any new Chelsea ownership will be inheriting a group that’s been heavily invested in by current owner Roman Abramovich.

The Blues have some big-money signings in Thomas Tuchel’s current squad such as Romelu Lukaku (£97.5million), Kai Havertz and Kepa Arrizabalaga (both £71million), and Christian Pulisic (£58million).

In addition, Chelsea’s brilliant academy at Cobham has helped produced several first-team players in recent years that are now prized assets. For example, England duo Mason Mount and Reece James would surely bring in a fortune if sold.

Fair valuation

In fairness, it seems a decent valuation of the squad when you consider how many players on Chelsea’s books.

The likes of Havertz, Mount and James are the types of players that could go for catastrophic fees. Elsewhere, the crop of loanees such as Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja are seeing their stocks rise constantly.

The likes of Thiago Silva, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho aren’t spring chickens any more but are special players, too.
