According to ESPN, Thomas Tuchel is yet to establish whether three members of the current Chelsea squad will be part of his set-up next season.

Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori were the trio put up for debate.

Rudiger has been reformed since Thomas took over and still has 16 months remaining on his contract.

He joined Chelsea from Roma in 2017 for a £34m (Guardian) fee and has since played well over 100 games for the club.

Tomori and Christensen were both raised through Chelsea’s prestigious academy system but both have uncertainties lingering over their future.

AC Milan managed to sign Tomori on a season long-loan and the 23-year-old has really impressed his Italian admirers.

Milan have an option to secure him permanently for £25m (Guardian) which would play Tuchel’s hand for him.

Christensen for now remains at Stamford Bridge. He was an outcast under Frank Lampard but has returned to the side in Thiago Silva’s absence with flying colours.

Silva’s situation is another Chelsea want to sort out before they make any serious transfer movements. They have opened talks to extend his stay another year and are waiting on a response from the Brazilian.

Chelsea’s hierarchy have wanted to restructure their defence for some time and are tackling this issue by approaching some of the biggest stars in Europe.

David Alaba, Dayot Upamencano, Jerome Boateng and Raphael Varane are a handful names that the Blues have identified.

Out of the three, I truly hope Tomori remains a Chelsea man. Unlikely as it now seems considering his impact at Milan, I would love him to find his way back to his London home.

People have been umming and erring for too long over Rudiger and Christensen. If they are to go, the time is now.
