Reports from Spain have claimed that Atletico Madrid have been disappointed by what has come from Joao Felix’s loan spell at Chelsea.

According to AS, a source from the club has stated that they have not got what they expected from the 23-year-old’s temporary time in England so far.

The output from Felix has been of concern to some supporters in his half-season with the Blues, despite plenty of signs that he is a player with real promise.

He has scored just three times since the move from Spain, with him recently finding the net off the bench in the 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

However, his appearances since temporary boss Frank Lampard took over have mostly been restricted to off the bench.

Atletico Madrid not impressed by Felix loan

Whether it is because there is an opportunity that he is not with the club anymore from next season or his performances have not been up to standard in the manager’s eyes, but chances to impress his potential next club have been few and far between in recent weeks.

Previous reports have claimed that Chelsea, and Todd Boehly in particular, have been keen to keep the Portugal international on board for next season, whether that be on a permanent deal or another loan.

Some supporters on the other hand are less keen, with those very ones pointing to the potential loss of Mason Mount as a result of paying big money for Felix.

Reports have claimed that there is still some gap in negotiations between the owner and the England international regarding a new deal, opening up a genuine possibility that he could be on the move this summer.

Despite a poor campaign, it would be madness to let go a player who has been named the club’s player of the year for two consecutive years now.
