Bruce Buck reportedly sent an all-staff email to those employed by Chelsea in regards to the club’s current situation.

According to Goal, the Blues chairman urged everybody to remain united during these unprecedented times and ‘not to leak any internal information’.

However, Buck apparently overlooked the part about job security, the section workers were surely hoping to read.

Why are Chelsea staff worried about their jobs?

Some that keep Chelsea running from behind the scenes have started fearing for their livelihoods due to the sanctions imposed by the UK government upon Roman Abramovich.

Any revenue usually collected by the European champions can no longer be pumped into the Russian’s pocket, with ticket sales taking a real beating because of it.

Abramovich also cannot inject any cash into the finance, meaning the Blues are largely relying on a special government licence to fund their various foils.

Goal state that they have an allowance of £900,0000 per home match, whilst £20,000 is the budget for away fixtures.

There were a few doubts about whether the senior squad would be able to fulfil their Champions League tie with Lille on Wednesday.

Thomas Tuchel quickly doused those concerns by explaining to reporters that, the last he heard, there would be a plane available.

What next for the Blues?

However, worries still remain amongst the people in less fortunate positions to the players.

The government’s grant allows the employees to be paid, but only until the 31st of May.

A new owner must be located before then, otherwise, Chelsea could possibly go bust.

Quite a remarkable scenario considering only last month, Tuchel’s team were celebrating lifting the Club World in Abu Dhabi.

This turned out to be the final silverware success of Abramovich’s tenure, the last major honour previously missing from his CV.

Ironically, it was achieved close to Saudi Arabian soil, the native country of Newcastle United’s co-owners, who have also faced scrutiny recently.
