All four investors in the race to buy Chelsea reportedly know it’s not possible to relocate from Stamford Bridge.
According to The Independent, the future of the Blues ground is secure regardless of the new ownership.
It is explained some bidders in the process to buy Chelsea were looking at plans to move to an out-of-town venue, but the remaining consortiums still in the running are aware that’s not possible.
The report explains the club’s Pitch Owners organisation will ensure a move won’t happen. Therefore, Thomas Tuchel’s side are staying put.
It’s something the four remaining bidders are aware of.
Todd Boehly leads one bid, while Stephen Pagliuca is another still in contention. In addition, Sir Martin Broughton and Lord Sebastien Coe are the face of another offer. Finally, the Ricketts family remain an option.
The selection process continues to go on, albeit the final bidder will be put forward to the government for approval later this month.
Fortress Stamford Bridge
For certain, a trip to West London to face Chelsea at the Bridge is a daunting task for any away side.
A need for a larger capacity and room for more supporters at games is something most will agree on, but people don’t want to lose the club’s home.
The only time Tuchel’s side has lost at home all season is in a 1-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City back in September.
