Dean Jones said on the Terrace YouTube channel that Chelsea have presented personal terms to Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku has been linked with a potentially sensational return to Stamford Bridge for some time.

At one point, it appeared the Inter Milan centre-forward was his former club’s number transfer priority.

Erling Haaland soon took over that mantel, although the Belgian is seemingly still in the picture.

His name is being mentioned prominently again as dealings with Borussia Dortmund for Haaland have hit another hurdle.

According to Jones, Lukaku remains so firmly on Chelsea’s radar, they have even proposed how much money they would pay him.

“Chelsea have made an offer in terms of personal terms,” he said.

“He knows what they are willing to pay him, but it’s not really moved at this stage so we’ve just got to wait.”

Lukaku back to London?

It is nearly a decade since Lukaku last played for Chelsea back in 2013.

The 28-year-old’s journey to becoming Serie A’s MVP has taken him from West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Manchester United.

All whilst maintaining an excellent scoring record, one that he continued following his £74m (BBC) move to Milan two seasons ago.

He gunned the Italians to their first league title since 2010, with 24 goals in 36 domestic games.

These numbers are exactly what Chelsea are after if they have ambitions of challenging for the Premier League title.

Many Blues supporters would jump at the chance of reuniting with Lukaku, especially if it meant him linking up alongside some of Thomas Tuchel’s current crop.

Thanks to a Twitter Q&A last April, the Nerazzurri’s no.9 already revealed two of his favourite stars presently playing for his ex-employers.

For now, Haaland remains Chelsea’s top choice this summer.

But before too long, Lukaku might just creep back quite prominently into the picture.
