Rio Ferdinand has claimed he loves watching Chelsea’s Mason Mount ahead of his imminent transfer to Manchester United.

Mason Mount, who’s potential move to Old Trafford has gathered real speed in recent weeks, looks like he’s played his last ever game for Chelsea.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has been such a key first-team player for the Blues in recent years, but the academy graduate could be about to wave his goodbyes and secure a move to Manchester.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter yesterday that Mount has now completed his medical and signed a five-year deal with Man United. Now, everyone is waiting for the official confirmation from clubs.

Ahead of his arrival at Old Trafford, former United star Ferdinand has explained why he’s a big admirer of Mount. In fact, he absolutely loves watching the Chelsea playmaker in action.

“I think Mason Mount is a very good signing, he will be a valuable member of the squad, he’s a good player, top player, I love the way he plays football,” Ferdinand told FIVE’s YouTube channel.

“Every manager he’s had has been nothing but positive about him, integral to everything they do.

“(He brings) goals, assists, chances created, runs deep into the box, always a goal threat, decisive player in the team, he has to play.

“…For that price in today’s market, he could actually turn out to be a very good bit of business.”

Jason Cundy previously told talkSPORT that Mount’s exit from Chelsea this summer is “pretty shocking” for the club.

This feels like a deal that will take some time for Blues supporters to get over.

Many Chelsea fans would’ve loved the club to have reached an agreement with Mount over a new deal, but they’ve now backed themselves into a corner to cash in during this window.

Man United have agreed a £55million deal with £5million in add-ons to sign Mount (BBC), which some may view as good business for all parties.

If the England international can regain his best form, United will be able to reflect on it as fantastic business.
