Chelsea picked up a much-needed win over Everton at Stamford Bridge to continue their hunt for Champions League football next season.
The Blues were victorious 1-0 thanks to Nicolas Jackson’s first-half strike. The Senegal international was on target for the first time in 2025.
The second half saw the defensive players step up when required. Despite a number of tough outings this season, Robert Sanchez was on top form between the sticks.
Romeo Lavia was handed a start for the first time since January after his ongoing injury woes, and he recieved a standing ovation from the Chelsea fans for his performance.
The biggest story of the afternoon though was Jackson returning to the scoresheet, and doing so in slightly unusual fashion.

Romeo Lavia shares Nicolas Jackson training secret which saw Chelsea beat Everton
It was the first time the striker had scored from outside the box in the Premier League, as he turned on an Enzo Fernandez pass and struck quickly to beat Jordan Pickford.
When learning it was the first time he had done this, Lavia told BBC Sport that he had been used to seeing it in training, and was not surprised to see the ball hit the net.
He said: “I had a lot of fun today being back in the team and helping to get a big win. Everton improved in the second half, but that is football. Everyone has their good times.
“He may not have done it in the Premier League, but I have seen him do it loads in training so I am not surprised. I am really happy for him”.

Chelsea’s stance on Nicolas Jackson amid striker rumours
It has been strongly reported that Chelsea are looking at signing a new striker this summer, after neglecting strengthening the role for the past few transfer windows.
The likes of Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres remain on their shortlist for the summer, with Europe’s top clubs also interested in the same targets.
Despite this, Chelsea have faith in Jackson and believe he can still be a crucial part of their side in the coming years.
His all-round game has proven to be far stronger than his finishing since moving to Stamford Bridge, however moments like the goal against Everton will continue to convince higher ups there is something there to work with.
