Ruben Loftus-Cheek is glad to see his former Chelsea team-mate Armando Broja back on the pitch again.

Armando Broja came on in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa yesterday after months out injured, much to the delight of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

In response to a post Broja put up on Instagram after the game, the midfielder commented: “He’s back.”

The striker was unable to guide Chelsea to a win, but he could have the chance to help them claim all three points next Monday when his side take on Fulham in the west London derby.

Nicolas Jackson will be unavailable for the clash after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the defeat to Villa.

Armando Broja back

Broja’s return has come at a good time. Again, Jackson is now suspended, while the Senegal international was struggling for him anyway.

He has scored just one goal in six Premier League outings, a record he will not be happy with.

Is Broja going to come and save Chelsea now? Probably not. But he is another option to Jackson and can maybe offer something different to the former Villarreal man.

If the 22-year-old can do the above, then he could end up saving his club millions.

Chelsea continue to be linked with new centre-forwards, who are not going to be cheap.

According to the Daily Mirror, they have Ivan Toney on their radar, with Brentford thought to want at least £60m for his signature.

Before January arrives, Broja will be hoping to show Chelsea that they do not need the 27-year-old.
