Chelsea picked up a much-needed 2-0 win on Saturday evening in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left raving about the individual performance of Mason Mount.

Amid all the excitement of the ongoing Champions League semi-final, the Blues had to focus this weekend on an important Premier League match at home to London rivals Fulham.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel watched his team draw 1-1 midweek away to Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg, and perhaps had one eye on next week’s second leg when selecting his XI against Fulham.

There were a few notable individuals that were rested, but it was still a very strong team that earned the three points at Stamford Bridge over Fulham.

Kai Havertz was the match-winner on the weekend, as he scored a goal in each half.

The 21-year-old German forward has had a mixed first season with the club, but showed his finesse in front of goal with two composed finishes against Fulham.

It means that the Blues are fourth in the table right now with 61 points, while fifth-placed West Ham are six points adrift with a game in hand.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe that Mount was once again a standout for them.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who dropped in a bit deeper against Fulham to allow N’Golo Kante and Jorginho some rest, shined on the weekend.

He’s got to be the frontrunner for the club’s Player of the Season, and his assist for the opening Havertz goal showed the kind of confidence he has right now.

The England international plucked perfectly out of the sky a long through ball, before timing the weight of his pass perfectly to Havertz.
