‘Shambles’: TalkSPORT pundit says 23-year-old Chelsea player simply isn’t good enough

Dean Saunders has ripped into Chelsea defender Malang Sarr after the 4-2 defeat to Arsenal, claiming he’s simply not good enough.

Sarr, 23, was a surprise inclusion last night in the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues centre-back, along with most of his teammates, dipped too far below their usual standards.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have been all over the place since returning from last month’s international break, winning three games and losing three.

They’ve got an FA Cup final against Liverpool in May ahead of them. However, they’re out of the Champions League, and there’s work to do still to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League.

TalkSPORT pundit Saunders wasn’t impressed in the slightest by the latest performance of Chelsea’s Sarr.

“Sarr, shambles. Not good enough… He’s made so many mistakes,” Saunders told talkSPORT.

Any defence for Sarr?

Yes, it was a really disappointing individual performance from Sarr on Wednesday evening.

The French centre-back had the unenviable task of trying to fill in for injured teammates Antonio Rudiger on the left of the back three.

It may be a tad harsh to completely write off his Blues career, though.

He’s now made 19 appearances this season during his debut year with the first-team squad, with a variety of mixed performances.

It’s obvious that the left-footed centre-half is still learning the system in a tactical sense, plus he does look rushed and shaky at times.

Sarr’s still only a young talent that does look a little out of his depth in moments, so perhaps a loan to a Premier League rival should be suggested for next season.
