Romelu Lukaku has been named on the Chelsea bench for today’s Premier League match against Aston Villa – and some Blues fans on Twitter are gutted to see him miss out on the starting XI.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has named a strong starting line-up for the Boxing Day fixture.

There are two changes from the Blues side that drew 0-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the previous league game.

Jorginho and Callum Hudson-Odoi replace Hakim Ziyech and Cesar Azpilicueta in the XI.

Chelsea fans wound up by Lukaku decision

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are gutted to see Lukaku as a substitute against Villa.

The 28-year-old centre-forward is available again after his period of isolation, but Tuchel’s opted to put him on the bench this evening.

He’s not started a league encounter since mid-October and plenty of the fanbase at Stamford Bridge are frustrated that he’s not getting a look-in.

Instead, Christian Pulisic appears to be starting in the false-nine position against Villa.
